Understory is operated by a sole proprietor registered in Singapore. We take the privacy of every applicant seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and how it is stored.

What we collect

When you submit an application to Understory, we collect your name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, age, a photograph, and your written responses to the application questions. If you contact us through the enquiry form on our website, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.

How we use your information

Your information is used solely to assess your application, conduct your intake conversation, and if accepted, to prepare the evening with care. Your responses are read personally by our relationship counsellor and are not shared with any other applicant or attendee under any circumstances.

Where your information is stored

Application responses are collected via Google Forms and stored in Google Drive. All correspondence is conducted via Gmail. These services are operated by Google and subject to Google's own privacy policy. We do not use any other third party platforms to store or process your personal data.

How long we keep your information

We retain your application for up to two years from the date of submission. This allows us to consider reapplications appropriately. If you would like your data deleted before this period, you may request this at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to request that it be corrected or deleted, and to withdraw consent for us to hold it. To make any such request, contact us at understory.sg@gmail.com.

Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for commercial purposes. We will only disclose personal information if required to do so by law.

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (Singapore), Understory has appointed a Data Protection Officer who can be contacted at understory.sg@gmail.com for any data-related queries or concerns.
